Thai's orchids are wild plants that germinate only once a year. Their beauty is hardly a secret as thay have the object of fascination for years. Here are a few Thai orchids:

Charng Puak, which is in the Rhynchostylis Blume family, has white blossoms which give it its name. It is both rare and very expensive. Charng Puak Blooms only in winter, in December and January
Charng Krae, is in the same family as Charng Puak and has the same characteristics. Charng Krae's blossoms, however, appear in two different colors.
Aoung King Dum, in the Dendrobium SW family, is commonly called in Thai "Sakunwai". There are 153 kinds of this orchid. It has a pencil-like stem and a dark brown, almost black color and it sheds its leaves during the summer months. During its blooming period, it has two to three flowers per plant.
Aoung Man Kai , or Dendrobium Thyrsiflorum is found in Northern Thailand. The orchid is called "Mon Kai" or "egg yolk" because it has an outer white ring and red circle in center similar to an egg yolk. Aung Mon Kai blooms usually during the summer, when it also release its fragrance.
